Unidentified drones have been detected over a military base in Washington, D.C., where high-ranking officials are currently located.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing The Washington Post, that the origin of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) remains unknown. The detection of these drones over Fort McNair has prompted a comprehensive review of security measures for US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.

Despite the security concerns, a senior administration official stated that the officials have not been relocated to a different facility. The report indicates that alert levels have been elevated following recent regional escalations, with the US military closely monitoring potential threats. Washington remains particularly concerned about possible retaliatory actions from Iran following the deaths of high-ranking officials in the region.

Fort McNair, located on the tip of Greenleaf Point in Washington, D.C., is one of the oldest active military installations in the United States and serves as a critical site for military education and high-level security operations. Under the administration of US President Donald Trump, security protocols for cabinet members have been intensified in response to evolving global threats and the increasing use of drone technology in surveillance and asymmetric warfare. The Pentagon continues to investigate the flight patterns and technical signatures of the detected UAVs to determine their source and intent.
