A freight train transporting Russian wheat to Armenia via the territory of Azerbaijan has departed from the Bilajari station of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the latest shipment involves 26 railcars carrying a total of 1,820 tons of wheat, which will transit through Azerbaijan en route to Armenia.
This transit operation is part of ongoing logistical cooperation. To date, approximately 43,000 tons of grain, nearly 9,000 tons of fertilizer, 1,136 tons of propane, 133 tons of aluminum, 1,114 tons of coal, and 67 tons of timber have been transported from Russia to Armenia through Azerbaijani territory. Additionally, nearly 15,000 tons of diesel fuel and approximately 5,000 tons of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline have been exported from Azerbaijan to Armenia.
The facilitation of these transit routes underscores Azerbaijan's role as a key logistical hub in the South Caucasus. By providing infrastructure access for regional trade, Azerbaijan continues to contribute to the connectivity of neighboring states, adhering to international transit norms and fostering economic interaction within the region.
