Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Alexander Venediktov has expressed hope that Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune will attend the third Russia-Africa summit, scheduled to take place on October 28–29.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Venediktov made these remarks during a meeting with Belkacem Camel, Director of Analysis and Evaluation at Algeria's Directorate General for Documentation and External Security.
“We hope that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune will be able to personally participate in the third Russia-Africa summit, which is planned for October 28–29 of this year,” Venediktov stated.
He described Algeria as one of Russia's key partners in Africa, emphasizing the ongoing political dialogue between the two nations. Venediktov expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation would continue to develop within the framework of the Declaration on Deepened Strategic Partnership.
Furthermore, the Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council proposed holding bilateral consultations on security issues in the second half of this year. According to Venediktov, these discussions are intended to facilitate an exchange of views on strategic trade and economic projects, regional developments, and global stability.
The Russia-Africa summit serves as a significant platform for Moscow to strengthen its diplomatic and economic ties with African nations, aiming to counter Western influence and foster a multipolar international order.
