The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has granted requests from the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan for the extradition of Azerbaijani citizens Nahif Alicanli and Renad Orucov.
This information was confirmed to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan.
According to the investigation, Nahif Alicanli is suspected of evading military service while serving as a contract soldier, a case currently under investigation by the Qubadli Military Prosecutor's Office. Meanwhile, Renad Orucov is accused of committing fraud causing significant financial damage, a case being investigated by the Nizami District Police Department in Baku.
Both individuals were officially charged and placed on an interstate wanted list after attempting to evade investigation. Following their detention in Russia, they were transferred to Azerbaijan by the relevant authorities of the Ministry of Justice.
Extradition procedures between Azerbaijan and Russia are conducted under international legal cooperation agreements, which facilitate the return of individuals suspected of criminal offenses to face trial in their home jurisdiction. This cooperation remains a critical component of the judicial and law enforcement collaboration between the two nations.
