Former member of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) Rauf Aliyev has been awarded the 2nd degree "For Service to the Fatherland" order.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree to this effect.
Under the decree, Rauf Asif oglu Aliyev received the award in recognition of his long-term, effective contributions to the public life of Azerbaijan.
Rauf Aliyev, who turns 70 on May 27, has a distinguished career in public service. He served as a deputy in the Milli Majlis during the III, IV, V, and VI convocations. In addition to his legislative work, he has been actively involved in the development of Azerbaijani sports, having served as a vice president of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA).
