The Ministry of Interior of Qatar has announced the evacuation of residents from buildings located near the United States Embassy in the capital, Doha.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the information was released in a special statement by the ministry.

According to the statement, the decision was taken as a preemptive security measure. Officials noted that all evacuated residents are being provided with alternative accommodation during the period of the security operation.

The move comes amid reports of active evacuations of American citizens from several Middle Eastern countries following US military operations against Iran and the subsequent closure of various regional airports. The heightened security posture reflects the volatile situation in the Persian Gulf, where diplomatic missions have been placed on high alert. US President Donald Trump has previously emphasized the priority of ensuring the safety of American personnel and diplomatic facilities in the region.

Qatar, which hosts one of the largest US military bases in the Middle East at Al Udeid, often serves as a key diplomatic intermediary in the region. Such security measures in Doha are typically coordinated closely with international partners to maintain stability and prevent potential incidents near sensitive diplomatic zones.
