Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, has harshly criticized Washington, alleging that the United States has violated a 14-point memorandum of understanding (MoU).

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Iranian parliamentary speaker made these remarks during a recent session, emphasizing that the U.S. actions demonstrate a continued intent to exert pressure on Tehran, despite previously reached agreements.

Ghalibaf asserted that a new phase in international relations has begun, declaring that the "era of coercion is over." According to the speaker, unilateral decisions by the United States and a failure to adhere to commitments are escalating regional tensions and negatively impacting the environment of diplomatic trust.

The memorandum of understanding in question relates to ongoing diplomatic efforts between the two nations. Tehran has frequently accused Washington of interfering in its internal affairs and violating international obligations through the use of sanctions and political pressure tactics. These accusations come amid a long-standing history of strained relations between Iran and the United States, characterized by disputes over nuclear programs, regional influence, and economic sanctions that have significantly impacted the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East.
