Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has confirmed that a written copy of an open letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Russian media reports, the letter circulating in the press has been delivered to the president, and Putin has familiarized himself with its contents.
Peskov stated that the subject of Zelensky's open letter is expected to be raised during the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, where the Russian president is scheduled to speak. The Kremlin spokesperson declined to comment on Putin's specific reaction to the correspondence.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is a major annual Russian business event for the economic sector, often used as a platform for the Kremlin to outline its foreign policy and economic strategies to an international audience. On June 4, the Ukrainian President addressed an open letter to Putin, warning that the ongoing conflict could lead to severe consequences for Russia and calling for a personal meeting to discuss a cessation of hostilities.
