Unstable weather conditions, characterized by intermittent precipitation, are expected across Azerbaijan over the upcoming weekend.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the forecast was announced by Gulnara Abbasova, Deputy Head of the National Hydrometeorology Service.
Abbasova stated that rain is expected in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula during the second half of June 26, with showers likely to occur from the evening of June 27 through the morning of June 28. She emphasized that short-term intensification of rainfall is probable during nighttime hours, with the wet weather expected to persist until the daytime on June 28, accompanied by strong north-westerly winds.
"Intermittent precipitation is expected to continue across the regions of Azerbaijan until June 29. In some areas, rainfall will be intense, accompanied by lightning and hail. There is a risk of increased water levels in rivers, with potential short-term flash floods and mudflows in some mountain rivers," Abbasova noted.
The National Hydrometeorology Service continues to monitor the situation closely. According to Abbasova, updated information regarding the unstable weather conditions across the country will be provided to the public on a regular basis as the meteorological situation evolves.
The National Hydrometeorology Service, operating under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan, is responsible for monitoring climate patterns and issuing early warnings to ensure public safety during adverse weather events.
