Azərbaycan və Slovakiya prezidentləri Ağdama səfər edəcəklər

The presidents of Azerbaijan and Slovakia are scheduled to visit the Aghdam district today. This visit marks a significant step in the ongoing cooperation between the two nations regarding the reconstruction of territories liberated from occupation.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev announced the visit during a joint press statement with Slovak President Peter Pellegrini in Shusha on July 14.

"Today, together with my Slovak counterpart, we will visit the Bash Garvand village in Aghdam. We will review the 'Smart Village' project being implemented by a Slovak company there. I would like to express my gratitude once again for this support and for your contribution to the restoration of Garabagh," the head of state noted.

President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the visit will continue in Baku tomorrow, highlighting the strength of the bilateral partnership. "I thank the President for accepting my invitation. This once again demonstrates how sincere and friendly our relations are. I am confident that these relations will continue successfully. We are in favor of concrete actions. Both sides attach great importance to bilateral relations. I can say that a strong partnership has been established in recent years," he added.

The visit to Aghdam is particularly significant as it showcases the active participation of international partners in the large-scale reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts currently underway in the Garabagh region. Since the liberation of these territories in 2020, Azerbaijan has prioritized the return of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) through the 'Smart Village' and 'Smart City' concepts, which integrate modern technology and sustainable infrastructure. Slovakia's involvement in these projects underscores the growing economic and diplomatic ties between Baku and Bratislava.
