Azerbaijan will certainly increase its contribution to global energy security, President Ilham Aliyev stated during his address at the official opening ceremony of the 31st Baku Energy Forum.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the head of state emphasized that a sound energy policy has enabled Azerbaijan to transition from a recipient of foreign investment to an active investor abroad.
"Thirty years ago, we were in a period where we were attracting investors. Now, we are directing our investments abroad," President Ilham Aliyev noted. "Today, our state oil company, SOCAR, is investing in the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia, and this geography will continue to expand."
The Baku Energy Forum is a premier international event that serves as a key platform for discussing the future of the energy sector, regional cooperation, and the transition to green energy. Since its inception, the forum has played a vital role in showcasing Azerbaijan's strategic position as a reliable energy partner for Europe and beyond, particularly through major infrastructure projects like the Southern Gas Corridor.
