Regarding cargo transportation and the development of the Middle Corridor, volumes between China and Azerbaijan, as well as in the opposite direction, are steadily increasing. We are effectively doubling the capacity of our seaport facilities.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during the opening of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.
The head of state noted: "We are also increasing the volume of cargo transported from China, and Central Asian countries have joined this process. In short, our mutual relations have a very strong history. Multilateral cooperation is being developed with countries located along the Middle Corridor."
The Middle Corridor, officially known as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), serves as a vital logistical link connecting East Asia and Europe. By bypassing traditional northern routes, it enhances regional connectivity and trade efficiency. Azerbaijan plays a central role in this network, leveraging its strategic location on the Caspian Sea to facilitate seamless transit for goods moving between China, Central Asia, and European markets.
