President Ilham Aliyev has called for the widespread implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) across state institutions in Azerbaijan, highlighting its growing importance in modern governance.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during a meeting dedicated to the unified action plan titled "Azerbaijan's New Digital Architecture." The head of state emphasized that leading nations are already integrating these technologies into their public administration frameworks.
"Even according to the information provided to me, in some developed countries, so-called AI agents assist civil servants in their daily activities. Artificial intelligence can naturally be helpful in determining whether a particular decision is correct or not. Therefore, it is necessary to examine this system, and individuals represented in leadership bodies must make extensive use of artificial intelligence," President Ilham Aliyev stated.
The push for digital transformation is a key component of Azerbaijan's broader strategy to modernize its economy and public services. By adopting a "digital architecture," the government aims to increase transparency, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and enhance the efficiency of state agencies through automated data processing and intelligent decision-support systems. This initiative aligns with global trends where AI is increasingly used to optimize urban planning, resource management, and citizen services.
