The opening ceremony of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum was held in Antalya, Turkiye, on April 17.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the event, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan delivered the opening speech at the ceremony, followed by an address from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In his speech, President Erdogan emphasized that the ongoing normalization process between Turkiye and Armenia is being conducted in coordination with Azerbaijan. Discussing the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the Turkish President noted the organization's growing influence. "At the 13th Turkic World Summit to be held in our country in the final months of this year, we will take over the chairmanship for the new period from Azerbaijan. God willing, during this period, we will further increase the international activities and prestige of our organization. We are moving forward step-by-step in the normalization process with our neighbor Armenia in coordination with Azerbaijan. In this regard, we continue our strong support for the East-West Trans-Caspian Middle Corridor initiative, which is the most reliable route for trade between Asia and Europe," Erdogan stated.

Against the backdrop of geopolitical tensions, shifting power balances, trade barriers, and increasing pressure on multilateralism, predicting the current global landscape is becoming increasingly difficult. The theme of the fifth Forum, "Overcoming Uncertainties While Planning the Future," requires identifying risks and opportunities, developing strategies, and translating agreements into practical steps.

The Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) serves as a high-level platform for regional and global actors to exchange views on pressing international challenges. This year's forum is attended by more than 500 high-level officials from over 150 countries, including 22 heads of state and government, 14 deputy heads of state and government, over 50 ministers—39 of whom are foreign ministers—and 75 representatives of international organizations. More than 40 events and sessions, including leaders' panels, are scheduled to take place within the framework of the forum.
