Azerbaijan has transitioned from a conflict-oriented agenda to a peace-driven one following the end of the war and remains fully committed to regional stability. Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, made these remarks during a panel session titled "South Caucasus: On the way to becoming a strategic center" held as part of ADF2026.
According to AZERTAC, Hajiyev emphasized that Baku is taking concrete steps to move the peace process into a practical phase through pragmatic cooperation with Armenia. He noted that trade relations between the two nations are beginning to take shape, serving to strengthen mutual trust. "A new regional security architecture is being established to ensure long-term peace and security. Looking ahead, we envision an inclusive South Caucasus region where cooperation opportunities between Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan are expanded," Hajiyev stated.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) serves as a high-level platform for regional and global leaders to discuss pressing geopolitical issues. Azerbaijan's participation highlights its growing role as a key player in Eurasian connectivity and regional mediation. Since the restoration of its territorial integrity, the Republic of Azerbaijan has consistently advocated for the normalization of relations based on international law and mutual recognition of sovereignty, aiming to transform the South Caucasus into a hub of economic cooperation and stability.
