President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, on the occasion of the country's national holiday – Independence Day.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the letter reads: "On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I sincerely congratulate you and the friendly people of Georgia on the occasion of your national holiday – Independence Day. The current high level of Azerbaijan-Georgia friendly relations derives its strength from the deep sympathy, respect, and trust that our neighboring peoples have held for each other over centuries." President Ilham Aliyev also highly valued the results of his state visit to Georgia last month, noting that active high-level dialogue creates favorable opportunities for further deepening cooperation in all areas.
Azerbaijan and Georgia share a robust strategic partnership, serving as key transit hubs for major regional energy and transport projects, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Southern Gas Corridor. The bilateral relations between Baku and Tbilisi continue to play a crucial role in ensuring stability, security, and economic integration in the South Caucasus region.
