President Ilham Aliyev announced that Azerbaijan is actively expanding its trade relations with Armenia and has removed previous restrictions on transport and transit through Azerbaijani territory. Speaking at the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity ceremony, the head of state highlighted the progress made in bilateral relations since the Washington Summit.

"During these months, we have contributed to the development of our relations. We have not only removed restrictions related to transport and transit to Armenia through the territory of Azerbaijan but also expanded cooperation in other areas," the President stated, as reported by Operative Information Center-OMM. He further emphasized that during meetings with his Armenian counterpart, the sides discussed future steps for cooperation and the ongoing increase in trade turnover.

The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity is a prestigious international prize organized in the United Arab Emirates to recognize individuals and entities for their contributions to peaceful coexistence and global solidarity. Azerbaijan has recently intensified efforts to normalize relations with Armenia, focusing on the opening of regional transport communications and the delimitation of borders. These economic initiatives are viewed as essential components for establishing a sustainable peace treaty in the South Caucasus region, following the restoration of Azerbaijan's full sovereignty over its territories.
