President Ilham Aliyev has highlighted the significant potential for military-technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The head of state emphasized that both nations are actively developing their military-industrial complexes, creating a solid foundation for future partnerships.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during a joint press statement. "The military-industrial complex is developing in both Azerbaijan and Ukraine, and there are excellent opportunities for joint production, and in general, for joint production in the industrial field," the head of state noted, underlining the strategic importance of defense sector collaboration.
Azerbaijan has been significantly modernizing its defense industry in recent years, focusing on domestic production and international partnerships to enhance its military capabilities. This cooperation with Ukraine aligns with Azerbaijan's broader strategy of diversifying its defense procurement and fostering technological exchange. Historically, Baku and Kyiv have maintained strong bilateral relations, particularly in the energy and transport sectors, which now extend into high-tech industrial manufacturing.
