President Ilham Aliyev and President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs have held a meeting in an expanded format in Baku, focusing on the strengthening of bilateral ties and strategic cooperation between the two nations.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Press Service of the President of Azerbaijan reported that the discussions involved members of both official delegations. The meeting highlighted the importance of high-level political dialogue and the potential for expanding economic, trade, and energy partnerships between Azerbaijan and Latvia.
Azerbaijan and Latvia maintain a strategic partnership characterized by mutual support within international organizations and a shared interest in regional security. As a member of the European Union and NATO, Latvia serves as an important partner for Azerbaijan in the Baltic region, particularly in fostering closer cooperation between Baku and European institutions. This meeting follows a series of high-level exchanges aimed at diversifying the non-oil sector and enhancing transport connectivity through the Middle Corridor.
