President Ilham Aliyev attended the Zayed Human Fraternity Award ceremony held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. During the prestigious event, the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, presented the award to the laureates, including the Azerbaijani leader.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the ceremony commenced with the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, followed by a video presentation dedicated to the significance of the Zayed Human Fraternity Award. Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders, delivered an opening address. The event also featured video congratulatory messages from several world leaders, including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and King Abdullah II of Jordan. Speeches were delivered by President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and other laureates, including Afghan human rights activist Zarqa Yaftali and Nabil Qaddumi on behalf of the Palestinian organization "Taawon."
The Zayed Human Fraternity Award is an independent global prize that recognizes individuals and entities for their profound contributions to human fraternity and peaceful coexistence. Established in 2019, the award commemorates the historic meeting between Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed Al-Tayeb, in Abu Dhabi, where they signed the Document on Human Fraternity. The award is named in honor of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the UAE, whose legacy of humanitarianism and tolerance continues to serve as a model for international relations and social harmony.
