Speaker Sahiba Gafarova meets with Jordanian counterpart in Amman

Chair of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sahiba Gafarova, has held a meeting with the Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives, Mazen Turki Saud Al-Qadi, in Amman.

This was reported to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Milli Majlis.

During the expanded meeting, Speaker Gafarova emphasized that bilateral relations between the two friendly and brotherly nations, Azerbaijan and Jordan, have reached a high level. She noted that the reciprocal visits and meetings between the heads of state have played a pivotal role in strengthening this partnership.

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis expressed satisfaction with the cooperation and mutual support between the two countries within the frameworks of the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement, and other international organizations.

In turn, Mazen Turki Saud Al-Qadi shared his views on the development of inter-parliamentary ties, exchange of experience in legislation, promotion of investments, and cooperation in humanitarian and youth-related fields. He highlighted that this visit and his meeting with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis serve as an excellent opportunity to further expand relations between the two legislative bodies.

During the discussions, the parties also focused on opportunities for cooperation between parliamentary committees and friendship groups. The importance of continuing mutual support within international parliamentary organizations was also underscored. The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.

Azerbaijan and Jordan have historically maintained strong diplomatic ties, characterized by mutual respect and cooperation on regional and global platforms. Parliamentary diplomacy remains a key pillar in deepening these relations, facilitating dialogue on legislative best practices and economic collaboration.
