Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held separate telephone conversations with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, to discuss the situation arising from U.S. activities that escalate tensions in the region.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Presidential Administration of Iran released information regarding these discussions.
During the phone calls, Pezeshkian highly appreciated the solidarity shown by Qatar and Pakistan toward Iran, emphasizing the vital importance of strengthening unity and cooperation within the Islamic world. He noted that Tehran's official foreign policy is based on the norms of international law, equal partnership, and a diplomatic approach free from threats. President Pezeshkian stated that if the United States is truly in favor of negotiations and diplomacy, it must prove this through practical steps and put an end to provocative actions.
The Emir of Qatar and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, in turn, expressed their opposition to any interference or sanctions directed against Iran's security, independence, and territorial integrity. The leaders warned that a potential conflict in the region could lead to large-scale instability and a wave of violence. These diplomatic engagements come at a time of heightened geopolitical sensitivity in the Middle East, where regional powers are increasingly seeking to coordinate their positions to prevent further escalation. The dialogue reflects Iran's ongoing efforts to consolidate support among neighboring Muslim-majority nations amidst its complex relationship with Washington, now led by US President Donald Trump.
