Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Kevin Hamilton, NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, have discussed regional security issues.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Armenian media, the meeting focused on current challenges and efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region.
The sides also deliberated on the development of cooperation between Armenia and NATO, including the implementation of joint programs in areas of mutual interest. Pashinyan highlighted the importance of international partnerships in strengthening state resilience and provided an overview of ongoing democratic reforms in the country.
The meeting comes amid ongoing efforts to normalize relations in the South Caucasus following the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. NATO has historically maintained a policy of supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states in the region, while facilitating dialogue through the Partnership for Peace (PfP) program. These discussions reflect a broader trend of regional actors seeking to navigate security dynamics through international engagement and institutional cooperation.
