Ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus was the primary focus of discussions between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Benjamin Haddad, the Minister Delegate for European Affairs at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Armenian media, the meeting covered a wide spectrum of issues on the Armenia-France bilateral agenda, as well as future prospects for cooperation across various sectors.
Nikol Pashinyan and Benjamin Haddad also touched upon Armenia's interaction with the European Union (EU) and preparations for the upcoming European Political Community summit to be held in Yerevan. Following the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of maintaining active political dialogue and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
France has historically maintained close diplomatic ties with Armenia, often positioning itself as a key mediator in regional affairs. This meeting occurs amid ongoing efforts to normalize relations in the South Caucasus and establish a lasting peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The European Political Community, an initiative launched in 2022, serves as a platform for political and strategic discussions regarding the future of Europe, involving both EU and non-EU member states in the region.
