Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has leveled serious allegations against Liparit Drmeyan, the former head of the office of the country's representative for international legal matters.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Pashinyan addressed law enforcement agencies during a briefing, demanding a thorough investigation into Drmeyan's professional activities and assets.
The Prime Minister alleged that during his tenure within the government, Drmeyan prioritized personal interests over state obligations. Pashinyan characterized him as a "Trojan horse," insisting that potential corruption and conflicts of interest must be scrutinized. He further noted that following Drmeyan's dismissal, the position of the Samvel Karapetyan faction in the Arbitration Court had weakened, emphasizing that approaches contradicting government policy are unacceptable within state structures.
Pashinyan stated that individuals who disagree with his administration's policies and demonstrate conflicting stances must either resign or be removed from their positions. It should be noted that following his departure from government service, Liparit Drmeyan became a parliamentary candidate for the "Wings of Unification" party, led by former ombudsman Arman Tatoyan.
This development occurs amidst ongoing political tensions in Armenia, where the government has been actively consolidating its control over state apparatuses and legal representation in international forums, often citing the need for ideological alignment within the executive branch.
