All flights scheduled for the Baku-Nakhchivan-Baku route on March 5, 2026, have been canceled due to recent developments, according to the Operative Information Center-OMM.

The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL) that alternative flight routes have been established to ensure transport connectivity for Azerbaijani citizens. Flights have been scheduled from Baku to the city of Igdir in Türkiye and vice versa. To facilitate the movement of passengers from Igdir airport to Nakhchivan and back, special bus services have been organized. These bus trips will operate through the Nakhchivan bus terminal.

Passengers traveling on the Baku-Igdir-Baku route are requested to arrive at the airport at least one and a half hours before departure and must carry either a valid foreign passport or a new-generation national identity card. AZAL continues to monitor the situation closely and is taking all necessary measures to ensure flight safety. Passengers will be promptly informed of any further changes to the flight schedule.

The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is an exclave of Azerbaijan, separated from the main part of the country by Armenian territory. Ensuring reliable transport links to Nakhchivan is a strategic priority for the Republic of Azerbaijan, which often utilizes transit routes through neighboring Türkiye and Iran to maintain connectivity between the capital, Baku, and the region.
