The United Nations (UN) representation in Azerbaijan has extended its congratulations to the people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Torpaq Charshenbe (Earth Tuesday), the final Tuesday before the Novruz holiday.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the diplomatic mission shared the congratulatory message on its official account on the X social network.
"We congratulate Azerbaijan on Torpaq Charshenbe, the last Tuesday before the Novruz holiday, which symbolizes the awakening of the earth and the renewal of life with the arrival of spring. The UN representation in Azerbaijan wishes everyone abundance, hope, and prosperity," the statement said.
Torpaq Charshenbe is the last of the four festive Tuesdays celebrated in Azerbaijan leading up to the spring equinox. According to ancient traditions, these Tuesdays represent the four elements: Water (Su), Fire (Od), Wind (Yel), and Earth (Torpaq). The final Tuesday signifies the earth's awakening and the full arrival of spring, marking the peak of preparations for the Novruz holiday, which is celebrated as a symbol of peace, solidarity, and the renewal of nature.
