The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has allegedly carried out a clandestine military strike against an oil refinery located on Iran's Lavan Island. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Wall Street Journal first disclosed the details of the suspected operation.

According to the report, the strike specifically targeted energy infrastructure on the island. This development follows a recent statement from the government press service of the Emirate of Fujairah, which confirmed a fire at one of its oil zones resulting from a drone attack. The incident underscores the volatile security situation in the Persian Gulf region as various actors navigate complex geopolitical interests.

The regional landscape remains highly unstable following military strikes conducted by the United States and Israel against Iranian targets on February 28, which reportedly resulted in over 3,000 fatalities. Although a two-week ceasefire was announced between Washington and Tehran on April 8, diplomatic efforts in Islamabad failed to produce a breakthrough. In response to a US-led blockade of Iranian ports, Tehran has recently reinstated military control over the Strait of Hormuz, a critical corridor for global energy supplies, further heightening the risk of direct confrontation in the Middle East.
