The "Ay Yildiz" headquarters, currently under construction in Ankara and regarded as a new symbol of Turkey's military strength, has been presented at the international level for the first time.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense released details regarding the presentation.
The event, held in the "Yildiz" section of the complex, saw Turkish Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler welcome defense ministers from NATO member states, accompanied by a military orchestra.
During his address, Yasar Guler stated that the architectural concept of the new headquarters was inspired by the crescent and star symbols on the Turkish flag. The Minister noted that this project is not merely an administrative building but a testament to Turkey's determination in the fields of defense and security.
According to Guler, the "Ay Yildiz" headquarters, which is expected to be fully operational in the near future, will rank among the largest military centers globally. The primary objective of the new complex is to consolidate the General Staff and force commands into a single center, thereby enabling more agile and efficient military management.
The Minister announced that the headquarters will be protected by modern defense systems within the framework of the "Steel Dome" strategy. The complex will also utilize smart building technologies to ensure uninterrupted communication and command during crisis and wartime scenarios.
Yasar Guler emphasized that the new headquarters will not only strengthen Turkey's defense capabilities but also make a significant contribution to NATO's collective security efforts.
The "Ay Yildiz" project represents a major shift in Turkey's defense infrastructure, moving away from fragmented command centers toward a centralized, high-tech hub. This modernization aligns with Turkey's broader strategy to enhance its domestic defense industry and maintain operational readiness in an increasingly complex geopolitical environment.
