European Parliament President Roberta Metsola has extended her congratulations to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan following the recent parliamentary election results.
As reported by Redaktor.az, the EU official shared the message via her official account on the X social media platform.
Metsola expressed her congratulations on the success of the political force led by Pashinyan and underscored the importance of further strengthening relations between the European Union and Armenia. "Let us continue this new momentum to strengthen the relationship between the EU and Armenia," she stated.
The parliamentary elections in Armenia took place on June 7. According to preliminary results, three political forces are expected to secure representation in the parliament. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that his "Civil Contract" party has secured a parliamentary majority and will proceed to form the new government.
The European Parliament, as one of the EU's primary legislative bodies, frequently engages with Eastern Partnership countries to promote democratic reforms and regional cooperation.
