The State Examination Center (SEC) has announced the start of the specialization selection process for bachelors aiming to enroll in master's degree programs at higher education institutions in the Republic of Azerbaijan for the 2026/2027 academic year.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, bachelors must complete and confirm their "Electronic Specialization Selection Application" on the SEC's electronic services portal between July 20 and July 26 (until 23:59).
Candidates who meet the competition requirements based on the results of entrance exams held on February 15, May 17, and June 14 are eligible to participate. Applicants may choose to use results from any of their exam attempts. Those with multiple valid results have the right to select the score they prefer to use for the competition.
Under the established regulations, each bachelor can select up to 20 specialization codes. These selections must align with the candidate's undergraduate degree and, for certain programs, specific foreign language proficiency requirements. The selection process will be conducted in accordance with the table published in the 3rd issue of the "Magistr" (Master) journal for 2026.
The master's degree admission process is a critical stage in the Azerbaijani higher education system, designed to ensure that students are placed in programs that best match their academic background and professional goals. The SEC plays a central role in managing these entrance exams to maintain transparency and meritocracy in the country's academic sector.
