Minor erosion has been observed in a small section of the historic fortress walls in Baku, specifically at the intersection of towers 13 and 14 on Kichik Gala Street. The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed of the incident by the Administration of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Icherisheher."

According to the preliminary assessment by experts, the primary causes of the erosion are high humidity and natural processes resulting from continuous atmospheric precipitation observed in recent days. Following the incident, the administration took immediate operative measures to secure the area and implement necessary safety precautions for citizens. Restoration efforts are currently underway to address the damage and stabilize the affected portion of the monument.

"The preservation of our historical heritage and the safety of citizens are priority issues in the administration's activities, and the process is being kept under constant supervision," the official statement noted. Icherisheher, often referred to as the Old City, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and represents the most ancient part of Baku. Surrounded by well-preserved fortress walls, the site is home to the Maiden Tower and the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, serving as a vital cultural and tourism hub for Azerbaijan.
