Kuba qismən işıqlansa da, enerji böhranı davam edir

Cuban authorities have announced that a significant portion of the country's national electrical grid has been restored. However, due to critical fuel shortages, electricity production remains insufficient to meet the population's demand, leaving millions of residents without consistent power.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, which cites reports from the Cuban energy operator UNE, the electrical grid has been reactivated from the western Pinar del Rio region to the eastern province of Holguin. Despite this progress, Santiago de Cuba, the country's second-largest city, continues to face severe energy deficits. In the capital, Havana, the situation remains unstable; while power has been restored to large parts of the city, intermittent outages continue to be recorded during evening hours.

The ongoing energy crisis has sparked significant international discussion. Following an appeal from the Cuban government, the United Nations General Assembly has addressed the impact of US-imposed sanctions and fuel restrictions on the island. While several nations have urged Washington to reconsider these measures, US representatives have maintained that the responsibility for the crisis lies with the policies of the Cuban government, calling for systemic reforms within the country.
