Iran's third Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei stated in a message released on Tuesday on the occasion of the Hajj pilgrimage that Israel will cease to exist within the next 15 years.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, his message was published in the Iranian media. It was noted that since Mojtaba Khamenei was appointed supreme leader, no video or audio recordings of him have been released to the public.
The message also referenced the statement made years ago by the former supreme leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei, who claimed that "Israel will not see the next 25 years." In the document, Israel was characterized as an "unstable Zionist regime" and a "cancerous tumor," with claims that its "cursed existence is approaching its final stages."
Relations between Iran and Israel have historically been marked by severe hostility, with Tehran consistently refusing to recognize the statehood of Israel. This rhetoric aligns with Iran's long-standing foreign policy stance regarding the Middle East conflict, which frequently involves sharp statements from its leadership regarding the future of the Israeli state.
