Armenian and Ukrainian foreign ministers discuss regional security

The foreign ministers of Ukraine and Armenia, Andrii Sybiha and Ararat Mirzoyan, held discussions regarding regional developments and the advancement of bilateral relations between their respective nations.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the meeting was confirmed by Andrii Sybiha via a post on the social media platform X.

"I had a productive conversation with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. We discussed the development of Ukraine-Armenia relations and ways to further advance our bilateral dialogue," Sybiha stated.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister noted that he briefed his Armenian counterpart on the consequences of recent Russian attacks on Ukraine, specifically highlighting the ongoing strikes targeting civilian populations and critical infrastructure.

"We agreed to maintain close contact and continue developing Ukraine-Armenia cooperation," Sybiha added.

This diplomatic exchange occurs against the backdrop of complex geopolitical shifts in the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe. Both nations have been navigating distinct security challenges, with Ukraine continuing its defense against Russian aggression and Armenia seeking to diversify its foreign policy amid shifting regional dynamics in the South Caucasus.
