The Turkish Ministry of National Defense has issued an official response to recent reports claiming that the Turkish military plans to enter Iranian territory in the event of a potential attack on Iran by the United States.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry has declared these allegations to be entirely baseless.
In an official statement, the Ministry emphasized that Turkey continues its diplomatic and military efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region. The Ministry stated: “Turkey supports the peaceful resolution of all conflicts in the region and continues its activities toward ensuring sustainable stability.”
“At the same time, necessary measures are being taken in coordination with the relevant state authorities against any potential risks that may arise,” the statement added.
The Ministry concluded by stressing: “Claims appearing in some media outlets and social media platforms regarding ‘Turkey planning to enter Iranian territory for security reasons in the event of a US attack on Iran’ do not reflect the truth.”
This clarification comes amid heightened geopolitical sensitivity in the Middle East. Turkey, as a key NATO member and a neighbor to both Iran and Iraq, has historically maintained a policy of regional balance, often advocating for de-escalation between Washington and Tehran. The Turkish government frequently underscores the importance of territorial integrity and sovereign rights of neighboring nations to prevent further humanitarian crises and regional displacement.
