On March 5, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran carried out acts of aggression using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iranian territory, targeting the Nakhchivan International Airport and other civilian infrastructure in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this was stated in an official release by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.
"The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan strongly condemns the attacks committed by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran against civilian infrastructure in our country's territory in the absence of any military necessity. The full responsibility for this incident lies with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Ministry of Defense is preparing necessary response measures to defend the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country, and to ensure the safety of civilians and civilian infrastructure. These acts of attack will not go unanswered," the statement emphasized.
