The Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of the Republic of Azerbaijan has officially concluded its extraordinary session, with the final plenary meeting held under the chairmanship of First Deputy Speaker Ali Ahmadov.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the First Deputy Speaker noted that the session, which commenced on June 5, has successfully completed its legislative agenda. Following the final remarks, the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, marking the formal closure of the session.
The Milli Majlis typically operates on a schedule that includes two annual recess periods: from July 15 to August 30 and from January 1 to January 15. During these intervals, deputies are considered to be on leave. However, the legislative body retains the authority to convene extraordinary sessions if necessary, in which case the recess is suspended, and deputies are recalled to duty until the specific legislative tasks are completed. This mechanism ensures that the parliament remains responsive to urgent national matters throughout the year.
