The Milli Majlis (National Assembly) of Azerbaijan has approved amendments to the law "On State Enforcement Officers," significantly clarifying and expanding the scope of assets that enforcement officers can target for debt recovery. The decision was made during a plenary session of the parliament in Baku.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the new regulations specify that enforcement officers are now authorized to direct claims against a debtor's property, including cash, funds held in banks or other credit institutions, and accounts in electronic money organizations. This also extends to deposits and other valuable assets held in storage. Previously, the law primarily focused on funds in bank accounts and specific valuables, but the new wording provides a more comprehensive legal framework for asset seizure.

These legislative changes are part of Azerbaijan's broader efforts to modernize its legal system and improve the efficiency of judicial enforcement. By including electronic money accounts and a wider range of liquid assets, the government aims to ensure more effective debt recovery in an increasingly digital economy. The Milli Majlis (National Assembly) passed the bill in a single reading following discussions among deputies regarding the protection of creditor rights and the transparency of enforcement procedures.
