The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan has extended its official congratulations to Türkiye on the occasion of July 15 – Democracy and National Unity Day.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Azerbaijani MFA shared a congratulatory message on its official account on the "X" social network.
"We honor with deep respect and reverence the cherished memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of democracy, national will, and unity, and we express our gratitude to the heroic veterans. Happy July 15 – Democracy and National Unity Day!", the statement read.
July 15 marks a significant date in modern Turkish history, commemorating the resilience of the Turkish people in safeguarding their democratic institutions. The day serves as a national holiday in Türkiye, honoring those who stood against the attempted coup in 2016. Azerbaijan and Türkiye maintain a strategic alliance, often described by the phrase "one nation, two states," and consistently support each other on significant national days and international platforms.
