May ayı hava proqnozu açıqlandı: 32 dərəcə isti olacaq

The weather forecast for May has been announced in Azerbaijan. The National Hydrometeorological Service told Operative Information Center-OMM that air temperatures are expected to rise gradually throughout the month.

According to observations from recent years, weather conditions in May have become more variable compared to previous periods. The alternating influence of warm and cold atmospheric fronts across the country creates significant fluctuations in temperature and atmospheric pressure. This year, the average monthly temperature is expected to be close to the climate norm, and slightly higher in some areas. While monthly precipitation is generally expected to be near normal, there is a possibility of intensive rain on certain days.

In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the average monthly temperature is expected to be 18–20°C, which is near or slightly above the climate norm. Nighttime temperatures will range from 12–17°C, while daytime temperatures will be 20–25°C, reaching 27–32°C on some days. Monthly precipitation is expected to be near the norm (18–21 mm).

In Nakhchivan, Julfa, Ordubad, Sadarak, Shahbuz, and Sharur, temperatures will average 18–22°C. Daytime highs may reach 30–35°C on certain days. In the Garabagh and East Zangezur regions, including Khankendi, Shusha, Khojaly, Khojavand, Aghdam, Goranboy, Dashkasan, and Gadabay, the average temperature will be 14–18°C, with daytime highs reaching 25–30°C. Similar conditions are expected in Jabrayil, Kalbajar, Qubadli, Lachin, and Zangilan, where monthly precipitation is expected to be near the norm.

In Ganja, Gazakh, Aghstafa, Shamkir, Tovuz, Tartar, and Fuzuli, temperatures are expected to reach 30–35°C during the second and third decades of the month. Central lowland regions, including Mingachevir, Shirvan, Yevlax, Goychay, and others, may see temperatures as high as 33–38°C during the latter half of the month.

The National Hydrometeorological Service monitors these patterns as Azerbaijan transitions from the spring season to summer. Historically, May serves as a transitional period where the country experiences its first significant heatwaves of the year, often accompanied by short-term unstable weather and thunderstorms, particularly in the mountainous and foothill regions.
