Azerbaijan's National Hydrometeorological Service has released the official weather forecast for March 1, predicting changeable conditions across the country. According to information provided by the service to Operative Information Center-OMM, the first day of spring will be characterized by fluctuating temperatures and precipitation in various regions.

In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, the weather is expected to be changeably cloudy and occasionally gloomy, though mostly dry. However, light precipitation is possible in some areas during the night and evening hours. A moderate north-west wind will prevail, occasionally intensifying throughout the day. The temperature in the capital will range from 0-2°C at night to 3-5°C during the day, with atmospheric pressure rising from 766 mm to 769 mm Hg and relative humidity staying between 70-80%.

In the regions of Azerbaijan, intermittent precipitation is expected, with snow forecast in several areas. There is a possibility of intensive precipitation in specific locations, accompanied by fog in the morning and night. A moderate east wind will blow across the provinces. Temperatures in the lowlands will fluctuate between 0-4°C at night and 4-7°C during the day. In the mountainous regions, severe frost is expected, with temperatures dropping to 5-10°C below zero at night and 10-15°C below zero in high-altitude areas. Daytime temperatures in the mountains will remain between 0-5°C below zero.

The National Hydrometeorological Service has issued a warning regarding icy road conditions in mountainous and foothill districts during the night and morning hours. Such weather patterns are typical for the transitional period in Azerbaijan, where the arrival of the calendar spring often coincides with cold air masses from the north, impacting transportation and agricultural activities in the higher altitudes of the Caucasus range.
