French President Emmanuel Macron has pledged to assist Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in organizing a series of bilateral talks, including a potential meeting with US President Donald Trump, on the sidelines of the G7 summit.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Euronews, that the two leaders held an informal meeting prior to the official commencement of the summit, during which Macron assured Zelensky of his support in facilitating high-level diplomatic engagements.

Reports indicate that Macron explicitly stated, "I will organize this," suggesting that such meetings could take place as early as this evening or tomorrow. While the specific nature of the meetings remains unconfirmed, the diplomatic maneuvering highlights the ongoing efforts to align Western support for Ukraine.

According to The Guardian, leaders from the United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, Japan, Germany, and the European Union were kept waiting for approximately an hour while Macron, Zelensky, and US President Donald Trump held discussions. Despite these efforts, a White House representative previously informed Le Monde that a bilateral meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky was not included in the US President's official agenda.

The G7 summit serves as a critical platform for the world's leading industrialized nations to coordinate geopolitical strategies, particularly regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The group, which includes the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Japan, frequently utilizes these gatherings to solidify unified stances on international security and economic policy, making the interactions between heads of state highly significant for global diplomatic relations.
