Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has condemned threats by the US President regarding the targeting of Iran's energy infrastructure, describing them as an open admission of war crimes.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing Tasnim, that the statement came during a high-level diplomatic exchange.

During a phone conversation, Araghchi and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov discussed recent regional developments and international issues concerning the aggressive stance of the US and Israel toward Iran. The Iranian Foreign Minister condemned the actions taken by the US and Israel over the past 37 days against the Iranian people, including attacks on industrial and production infrastructure, hospitals, schools, residential areas, and nuclear facilities.

Araghchi emphasized the urgent need for international bodies, such as the United Nations Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), to take measures to condemn these actions and hold the aggressors accountable. He specifically characterized US President Donald Trump's threats against Iran's energy sites as a clear admission of intent to commit war crimes, calling on influential members of the UN Security Council to adopt a responsible position based on international law.

For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated Russia's condemnation of military aggression against Iran. He stressed the vital importance of halting attacks on civilian targets, particularly the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, and urged the use of all available diplomatic channels to prevent further escalation of the conflict.

This diplomatic engagement occurs amid heightened geopolitical volatility in the Middle East, where energy security and nuclear safety remain primary concerns for the international community. The dialogue between Moscow and Tehran reflects the ongoing strategic coordination between the two nations regarding regional stability and their shared opposition to unilateral military pressures in the Persian Gulf region.
