Lavrov: ABŞ və İsrailin İrana qarşı 2 gizli məqsədi var

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that one of the primary objectives of the policy pursued by the United States and Israel against Iran is to prevent the improvement of relations between Tehran and Arab nations.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the minister made these remarks during an interview with RT India.

Lavrov noted that the "aggressive policy" of Washington and Tel Aviv toward Iran is specifically designed to hinder new diplomatic rapprochements within the region. The diplomat recalled that years ago, King Abdullah II of Jordan hosted a summit dedicated to reconciliation between Sunnis and Shiites. According to Lavrov, significant efforts are currently being made to ensure that Iran's relations with Arab countries do not normalize and that Tehran remains in a state of international isolation.

The Foreign Minister further suggested that Iran's neighbors in the Persian Gulf region are being drawn into processes where they might be forced to compromise on the Palestinian issue in exchange for improving ties with Israel. According to the minister, this situation could lead to a shift in the political balance in the Middle East and trigger new tensions among regional powers.

This statement comes amid a complex geopolitical landscape in the Middle East, where US President Donald Trump has consistently emphasized a policy of maximum pressure on Tehran while facilitating the Abraham Accords to normalize ties between Israel and several Arab states. These diplomatic maneuvers have significantly reshaped regional alliances, often placing Iran at odds with both Western interests and emerging regional coalitions. The Russian Federation, maintaining its own strategic interests in the Middle East, frequently critiques Western interventionism, positioning itself as a mediator in the ongoing power struggle between Tehran and its neighbors.
