Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, is preparing to visit Oman as part of ongoing diplomatic consultations.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Mehr News Agency, that the information was shared by Mohammed Al-Araimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Journalists Association.

According to the report, the primary objective of the visit is to convey Iran's official position regarding nuclear negotiations to the relevant parties. The Omani official noted that this high-level visit is an integral part of the continuous diplomatic processes currently unfolding in the region.

The visit is expected to focus on the resumption of discussions regarding the nuclear program. Oman continues its long-standing mediation mission between Iran and the West. As of now, Iranian official bodies have not released a specific date for the visit.

Oman has historically served as a critical intermediary in regional diplomacy, often facilitating back-channel communications between Tehran and Washington. This role became particularly prominent during the initial negotiations for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and has remained a cornerstone of Muscat's foreign policy in the Middle East.

The upcoming discussions take place at a pivotal time for regional security. The involvement of high-ranking officials like Ali Larijani underscores the importance of these diplomatic efforts in addressing the complexities of the nuclear file and broader regional stability. Observers suggest that such engagements are vital for de-escalating tensions and exploring potential frameworks for renewed international cooperation.
