A Chinese diplomatic representative, Sun Lei, has stated that the large-scale attacks conducted by the US against Iran are further exacerbating tensions in the Middle East, pushing the region toward a "dangerous precipice."
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the diplomat emphasized that Washington's recent actions are complicating the regional security landscape and creating new, unpredictable risks.
Sun Lei stressed that the primary imperative at this stage is for the US to refrain from inciting further conflict and chaos in the region. Beijing maintains that all international actors must pursue more restrained and responsible policies to de-escalate tensions and preserve regional stability.
The Middle East remains a critical theater for global geopolitics, with ongoing volatility impacting international energy markets and diplomatic relations. China, as a major global power with significant economic interests in the region, frequently advocates for diplomatic solutions and non-interference, often positioning itself as a mediator in regional disputes.
