A delegation led by the Republic of Kenya's Minister of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, Alice Muthoni Wahome, visited the pavilions of the "Urban Expo" exhibition on May 20 as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Kenyan officials were accompanied by Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Urban Planning and Architecture Committee and national coordinator for WUF13. During the exhibition, the Kenyan delegation expressed significant interest in the Azerbaijan national pavilion, where Anar Guliyev provided detailed information regarding the pavilion's concept and the various expositions on display.
The Azerbaijan national pavilion at WUF13 was designed with inspiration from the unique architectural style of the Heydar Aliyev Center. A plane tree (chinar) placed at the entrance serves as a symbol of development, life, and the heritage of Azerbaijan. The pavilion highlights the country's urban planning and architectural journey from historical roots to future-oriented projects, featuring information on Icherisheher, medieval cities, national parks, and natural resources.
The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. WUF13 serves as a critical platform for international stakeholders to address the challenges of rapid urbanization and share innovative solutions for sustainable city development. Azerbaijan's prominent participation in the forum underscores its commitment to modern urban planning and international cooperation in creating resilient, sustainable urban environments.
