Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kamaladdin Heydarov, has visited the Bibiheybat road area in the Sabail district of Baku to inspect the landslide risk caused by recent intensive rainfall.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations that the minister conducted an on-site assessment of the current situation. During the inspection, Minister Heydarov held a meeting with Feyruz Mustafayev, Head of the Construction, Urban Planning, and Utilities Department of the Cabinet of Ministers, Vusal Nasirli, Chairman of the Board of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, and other relevant officials and specialists. They discussed immediate steps to be taken and the minister issued specific instructions to address the potential hazards.
Landslides in the Bibiheybat area, a critical coastal corridor connecting the capital to the southern regions of Azerbaijan, are often triggered by the complex geological structure of the terrain combined with heavy seasonal precipitation. The government of Azerbaijan consistently monitors these high-risk zones to ensure the safety of transportation infrastructure and prevent disruptions to the capital's logistics network. This latest inspection is part of a broader state strategy to mitigate the impact of natural disasters and reinforce urban infrastructure against environmental challenges.
