The European Union has issued a set of formal demands to Russia regarding the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, acting on behalf of the regional community, has presented a series of requirements to Russia for settling the ongoing war in Ukraine.

According to reports from Strana.ua, the diplomat submitted a document to the leaders of EU member states outlining the specific steps Moscow must take to resolve the confrontation with Kyiv. The demands include a reduction in the number of Russian troops and their withdrawal from certain territories in response to reciprocal steps by Ukraine. Furthermore, the document calls for the demilitarization of areas currently under the control of the Russian Armed Forces and the repeal of legislative provisions that prioritize national law over international treaties.

The EU representative also put forward several other requirements, including the payment of reparations for damages incurred during the conflict. These conditions reflect the European Union's unified stance on ensuring a peace process that respects international law and Ukraine's territorial integrity.

Kaja Kallas, who recently succeeded Josep Borrell as the EU's top diplomat, has consistently advocated for a firm European response to regional security threats. The European Union remains one of Ukraine's primary supporters, providing significant financial, humanitarian, and military assistance since the escalation of hostilities. This latest diplomatic initiative underscores the EU's commitment to a structured resolution framework that emphasizes accountability and the restoration of sovereign borders.
